Southern Window Cleaning FAQ’s

FAQs

How often should I have my windows cleaned?

At Southern Window Cleaning we are pleased to offer a flexible cleaning schedule to meet your individual needs. We recommend at least every 3 months for an interior clean, we can work with you to maintain highly exposed windows on a regular basis. For an exterior cleaning our recommendation is 4 – 6 weeks depending on exposure to weather i.e coastal sites. We advise our customers that it is best to not go over six months without an exterior clean.

What is the difference between a first time clean and a regular cleaning?

When a site is regularly cleaned we are able to reduce the price due to less build up of dirt and less time taken to clean. If Southern Window Cleaning have not cleaned your windows before we consider it a first time clean. We also consider any exterior windows that have not been cleaned in six months or more to be a first time clean. A first time clean includes a frame clean.

Why do I need to hire a professional to have my windows cleaned?

Regular professional cleaning prevents your windows from becoming etched or pitted over time. Pollution is a window’s worst enemy, resulting in pitting and once the damage is done the only solution is expensive window replacement. Professionals clean without leaving streaks or residue behind and have a trained eye for faulty windows. Hiring a professional also results in a time savings for you. We have all the right equipment to accomplish the job at a much faster pace with amazing quality.

Are you insured?

Yes, we are insured with a £5 million liabilty policy, we would be happy to present you with a certificate upon request.

What are foggy windows?

A fogged window is the result of a broken seal. Broken seals can happen in a number of ways such as foundation settlement or extreme changes in weather.

Do you bring your own equipment and supplies?

Yes, our vehicles are fitted with the latest ladderless systems including a days supply of purified water.

Do you use chemicals with the water fed pole system

No chemicals are used. purified water is in itself a cleaning agent so flower beds etc are at no risk.

do you take out any procedures when carrying out internal window cleaning

For your protection, our technicians wear plastic covers over their shoes when indoors or will remove their shoes completely. When hydraulic platforms are used for high internal windows, procedures are in place to ensure no damage is caused to the site
